Admissions Steps

Admissions Information

The Associate of Science Nursing Program (ASNP) at the 天涯社区官网 prepares graduates for entry-level registered nursing practice and eligibility to apply for licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). Admissions processes are competitive and aligned with program outcomes, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.

Program Announcements

The Associate of Science Nursing Program (ASNP) will implement a revised curriculum beginning Fall 2026.

  • The revised curriculum applies only to newly admitted cohorts with a start term of Fall 2026 or later.
  • No changes have been made to admission prerequirements or application requirements.
  • Changes are limited to the sequencing and scheduling of nursing courses and do not alter program outcomes or licensure eligibility. 

Students admitted before Fall 2026 will continue to follow the academic plan in effect at the time of their admission, in accordance with College policy and accreditation standards.

The curriculum revision supports progression, instructional effectiveness, and ongoing compliance with accreditation and regulatory requirements.

Applicants should review the academic plan associated with their intended start term to ensure accurate planning.


General Admission Requirements

(Applies to all ASNP pathways)

To be considere for admission, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Earn a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, calculated from required nursing prerequisite courses.
  • Achieve a minimum ATI TEAS score of 58.7%
    • Maximum of three (3) attempts within a six-month period
    • A two-week waiting period is required between attempts
  • Hold a current, non-expired certification or licensure appropriate to the pathway:
    • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for the Traditional and Part-Time ASNP pathways
    • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the LPN-to-ASNP (full-time and part-time) pathways


Partially completed, provisional, or expired certifications/licenses are not accepted.


Admissions decisions are made using objective, published criteria in accordance with ACEN standards for fair, equitable, and transparent student selection.


Application Deadlines & Notifications:

Spring admission deadline: October 1

Fall admission deadline: June 1


Applicants will be notified of admission decisions via email within two weeks of the application deadline.

The ASNP does not maintain a waitlist. Applicants who are not admitted must submit a new application for future consideration.

If you are a transfer student, request to have previous official college/university transcripts sent to the 天涯社区官网 Registrar or request through the .

Submit required documents on the electronic application form button following the program pathways requirement descriptions.  Apply to the College (Must be a current 天涯社区官网 student to be able to apply on electronic application.)


Admission Pathways

Traditional ASNP Pathway

  1. Required Prerequisite Coursework

    (Grade C or higher required in all courses)

    • ALLH 220 Fundamentals of Nutirition
    • BIOL 227 Human Anatomy & Physiology 1 (with Lab)
    • COMM GE Any General Education (GE) Oral Communications Course
    • MATH 143 Precalculus I: Algebra or MATH 153 Statistical Reasoning  
    • PSYC 101 Introduction to Psychology

    Additional Requirements:

    • Math and science coursework must be completed within the past five (5) years
    • A minimum combined GPA of 3.0 is required for the above listed courses

    Required Application Documents

    • Copy of current CNA certification
    • Unofficial transcripts (available in My天涯社区官网)
    • ATI Teas score report
    • (Optional) Verified CNA work experience (per program checklist)

    Applicants are scored once the quailified applicant pool exceeds 36 applicants.

LPN to ASNP Pathway

  1. Required Prerequisite Coursework

    (Grade C or higher required in all courses)

    • ALLH 220 Fundamentals of Nutirition

    • BIOL 228 Human Anatomy & Physiology 2 (with Lab)
    • COMM GE Any General Education (GE) Oral Communications Course

    • PSYC 101 Introduction to Psychology
    • SOCY 101 Introcuction to Sociology

    Additional Requirements:

    • Completion of Intravenous (IV) certification or evidence of competency
    • Math and science coursework must be completed within the past five (5) years
    • A minimum combined GPA of 3.0 is required for the above listed courses

    Required Application Documents

    • Copy of current LPN license (Nursys verification required)
    • Intravenous certification
    • Unofficial transcripts (available in My天涯社区官网)
    • ATI Teas score report
    • (Optional) Verified LPN work experience

    Applicants are scored once the quailified applicant pool exceeds four (4) applicants.

Part-Time ASNP Pathway

  1. This pathway follows the same prerequisite coursework and GPA requirements as the Traditional ASNP pathway.

    • (Optional) Verified CNA work experience (per program checklist)

    Applicants are scored once the quailified applicant pool exceeds eight (8) applicants.

Part-Time LPN to ASNP Pathway

  1. Application Deadline: February 1

    This pathway follows the same prerequisite coursework and GPA requirements as the LPN to ASNP pathway.

    • Intravenous certification
    • Unofficial transcripts (available in My天涯社区官网)
    • ATI Teas score report
    • (Optional) Verified LPN work experience

Post-Acceptance Steps

(ACEN Standard 4 - Student Progression & Compliance)

Admission to the ASNP is conditional upon continued compliance with program, institutional, and clinical agency requirements.

Students must:

Failure to meet progression or compliance requirements may result in dismissal from the program.

Health & Compliance Requirements

(Required prior to registration; may be completed in advance)

  • Physical examination (within six months of acceptance)
  • American Heart Association (AHA) BLS CPR (must remain current)
  • Continuous health insurance coverage 
  • Required immunizations and screenings:
    • COVID (exemptions and all versions accepted at this time)
    • Annual influenza vaccine (exemptions accepted)
    • Hepatitis B (3 doses of the Hepatitis B vaccine, OR 2 doses for the Heplisav 2 Shot Hepatitis B vaccine or positive titer)
    • Measles, Mumps and Rubella Series (2 doses of the MMR vaccine or positive titers)
    • Tdap (shot is good for 10 years, after which a booster is required)
    • Annual Tuberculosis Test
    • Varicella Series (2 doses of Varicella vaccine or positive titer)

Orientation Requirement

Attendance at a mandatory in-person orientation is required before the start of the semester. Failure to attend will result in forfeiture of the admission seat.

Criminal History Disclosure & Licensure Eligibility

Criminal history, including misdemeanor or felony conviction within the past five (5) years, may affect admission, clinical placement, program progression, or licensure eligibility.

Graduation from the ASNP does not guarantee eligibility to sit for the NCLEX-RN. Licensure determinations are made solely by the applicable state board of nursing.
