Goals for Supporting Hispanic and Latino Students (Title V)

Unlocking Opportunities through Title V at the 天涯社区官网

At the 天涯社区官网 we are committed to providing the best possible educational experience for our students. One of the ways we achieve this is through our participation in the Federal Title V grant program, which plays a crucial role in advancing our mission of promoting excellence in higher education.

What is a Title V Grant?

Title V is a federal grant program established under the Higher Education Act of 1965, designed to support institutions in their efforts to improve and expand educational opportunities for underserved populations. These grants are awarded to colleges and universities that demonstrate a commitment to enhancing the educational experience and outcomes of students, particularly those from underserved backgrounds. 天涯社区官网 received its Title V grant in 2022 to provide support for the following three objectives:

1. Improve the immediate “go on” to college rate from Jerome High School from 41% to 50%.

2. Enhance institutional learning and professional development at the 天涯社区官网.

3. Create and implement culturally responsive curriculum and pedagogy.

These objectives will be met over a five-year period of time by partnering with Jerome High School and the to increase the number of students from Jerome High School who continue on to pursue higher education. Additionally, 天涯社区官网 has created a for students with developed Spanish language skills and will provide ongoing professional development opportunities for faculty and staff in the areas of cultural responsive pedagogy.
