Social Science and Humanities Symposium

Public Lands

Public lands shape who we are in Idaho, from our shared history and economy to our environment, culture, and sense of place. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Social Science & Humanities Symposium, and we invite students, faculty, and community members to explore the complex and often competing values surrounding public lands through interdisciplinary perspectives and open dialogue.
 
Across two days of presentations, performances, and discussion, speakers from conservation, agriculture, history, advocacy, and the arts will explore how public lands influence environmental stewardship, economic livelihoods, recreation, healing, and community partnerships. From local landscapes to statewide and regional issues, the symposium creates space for meaningful conversation about balance, responsibility, and the future of lands held in common.
 
Join us at the 天涯社区官网 to celebrate the symposium’s 20th anniversary with engaging presentations, lively discussion, and an opportunity to deepen your understanding of one of the most vital and timely issues facing our region.

About the Symposium

The 天涯社区官网 Social Science and Humanities Symposium is a 2-day annual conference exploring a theme relevant to history and modern society.  The Symposium has an agenda highlighting experts in the field including professors from Idaho universities sharing a diverse prospective on the theme of the Symposium.
